The Athlone Academy of Music held their annual Spring Ball recently. After a welcome by Mr. Sam Jonker, the director of the Academy, and an introduction by Hymie Jacobs, the musicians entertained the crowds and got the party started.

Mr Russell Zeeman, father of one of the students says that if it where not for the Academy and people such as Mr Sam Jonker who give up their time to run the Academy and be involved with the children, they would have nothing to do and it is for the community to stand up and support them in everything they do.
And that there is no better sound than hearing the students of the Academy jamming while one walks down Blossom Street on a Saturday morning.

Freelance photographer, Paul Solomon of Grassy Park was on hand to capture the scene.

Some photos of the event are available below. Click on the thumbnails to view the larger image. Each image will open in a new window.
