Najwa Petersen, already convicted for murdering her husband and well known musician, Taliep Petersen, faces an investigation for an insurance claim lodged for items stolen during the bogus robbery.

Taliep Petersen died after being shot in the neck during what appeared to be a house robbery. Investigators later revealed that the murder was masterminded by Najwa Petersen, his wife at the time. She was sentenced to an effective 28 years in prison for the murder.

It is now alleged that an insurance payout was received for items stolen from the house in Grasmere street, Athlone on the night that the murder took place.
