After a good performance at a national tournament, a large contingent of local students from Karate Zen have been selected to represent South Africa at the Commonwealth Karate Tournament in Edinburgh, Scotland this year.

The Karate Zen team's "clean sweep" at the National Karate Trials, held in Sasolburg earlier this year has resulted in 18 juniors and 3 seniors being selected to represent SA in Scotland.

The team, who all hail from previously disadvantaged communities now have to themselves (or their parents) carry the R22000 cost per student for the Scotland tournament. Karate Zen has issued an appeal for sponsors or donors to assist in their endeavours.

Funding donations can be made to the following account:
Account Holder: Karate Zen
Account Type: Savings
Account Number: 0629440666
Bank: ABSA
Branch: 632005
