Beaches in Cape Town are set to be a bit safer over the Summer holiday season with the founding of a joint task team combat mugging, poaching and illegal off-road driving on beaches.

The task team is to be appointed by the City of Cape Town's Planning & Evironment, and Safety & Security Portfolio Committees; the South African Police Service (SAPS); Marine and Coastal Management (MCM) and the Table Mountain National Park (TMNP), to form a comprehensive crime-prevention strategy for the city's beaches.
