Foreign delegates experience Athlone's heritage

Parliamentarians from 18 countries who are attending the 38th Conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Africa Region in Cape Town visited the Trojan Horse and Gugulethu Seven Memorial on Sunday, 22 July 2007.

The group, which numbers close to 300 including Parliamentarians and staff from all Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA): African Region Member Countries are expected to attend the conference which runs from the 23rd to the 28th July 2007.

On the weekend prior to the conference, participants were given an opportunity to visit local and other areas. It was during this time that they visited Memorials dedicated to the Struggle.

Surviving family members of the victims were also present during the visit.
